(Reading back never hurt anybody, m'friend. ) When seeing George approach Lucian nodded in greeting. His questions, though, were simple enough to answer.
"As for how often, well, to be honest Jeff was the first attack on the new Elysium. Attacks on the citizenry, though, used to be frequent, perhaps once a week or so- during the shadow war."
At his second question, "Well, I come here because I own part of the establishment with Clouse. A few others, I suppose, come here to visit, or feel comfort or amusement by being here." Lucian stood up, and took to some of the mugs in the sink. Oh, the monotony of the mugs seemingly smoothed out his thoughts. "Whatever is the case, it's surely by no diction on my part that others come here, it's just a place we like to sit around at when we want to feel casual, I suppose. Mostly when I close shop so we can speak of kindred matters."
He placed one mug down, starting on another as he continued; "As far as I know, though- Medisia and Lord Seamus are still working on security matters for the new Elysium. So once that's taken care of, perhaps more will go there between court days."

Mr Giovanni gets up from the table, his eyes mind trying to gather the information he has stumbled upon. As he walks past Lucian, he stops "how are you suppose to protect your self from events that u have no knowledge of. Like this woman who has sat in this very place, ordered a drink from u personally. She has a reason to send others here, but yet you have no clue she did....or even how....." He continues for the front door, he's agitated and wishes to be alone.

"How am I suppose to trust you when you already don't have enough respect to even call me by my name, instead you call me a Carthian friend." She's a little uneasy about allowing herself to even think about working with him. "How in general should I trust anyone when my own family has betrayed me."
She thinks for a second, she hasn't really been able to do what she truely enjoyed, which was to shoot, be the best hunter out there. "Let's see what you have to offer and if I agree with them work that you are willing to put out for me. I am not working to increase your power, and if I see in any way that you are using me to make yourself more powerful I will not hesitate to turn my rifle towards you. That is of course if you betray me."

(looking back useful but not time effective)
George picks up a glass and begins to lazily clean it along side Lucian "its good to see a prince who can do a bit of modest work. what are these 'shadow war' to which you speak of? also why the change of Elysium and why was there such a lack of security for such an important place? does its owner not know how design or hire any form of the like?"

"Fine, I'll take a test trial." She says a little more calmly, Still not completely trusting she excepts the offer. She pulls out a chair and sits down across from Seamus. "So where did you friend head off to? I was hoping I could get some stories of where you two came from."

"it's a glorious set of stories" he said "my story has a lot to do with ireland back when brittan still controlled them. To say the least ireland is forever in debt to me they just dont fully know it. " he sighs looking up a bit then continues "what I did was almost carthian like you would say, I dumped all my money at the time and used all my favors to free ireland, thats the short story

A small grin came to his face. For one with such thick blood, he was fairly polite and nicely curious, to the right degree. Perhaps this person was as old as he seemed to look, as he knew just how to trp the rope without snapping it completely.
"Modest work reminds us of our humility, which without, leaves us open for unnecessary criticism. It's a way to anchor ourselves against the Beast's lure for more than the simple." Lucian inspected the current mug with a keen eye, taking to it again with the rag after another rinse. Auspex was fairly handy for such a task.
"As for your questions..."
The Prince pointed to a cowboy hat a'top the wine cabinet in the far corner behind the bar, near the the door to the manager's office. "That hat belonged to one of three Keibeit (sp?) elders, in a war between a split clan. We, were caught in the middle of it. Let's just say those of us who survived were quite lucky- and we'll keep those we lost in our memories as long as we can."
"As for the change of Elysium, it was a general feeling that this tavern was not the best choice for an Elysium, and I had recently named a Master of Elysium. Her name is Medisia, you must've seen her last court day. She risked her Requiem to save mine in the end of the Shadow War, and because of this I gave her a title. So far I am not disappointed with my decision."
The glass was finally finished, and so he put that one away and went to the next one as he continued to indulge George's curiosity.
"The lack of security, I imagine, is do to her recent awakening from torpor. From what I gathered the last time she was awake, it was around the 1800's, so her knowledge of security measures must be... Limited. This is why I asked Lord McFee to work with her on this, and I trust that neither of them will fail this request."
Again, another pin-point inspection from Lucian indicated a necessary washing, and so he bade it. The wiping would continue for now- especially after the Prince unbuttoned his sleeves and rolled them up.

George sets down the glass with the other clean ones "I believe Lord Seamus offered to help you with the Elysium and if you don't trust her knowledge of security measures then elect someone else. I suggest Lord Mcfee, he is more knowledgeable in architecture then any I know and I assure you he can fortify any location better than any."
George pauses and picks up another mug "the Khaibit bloodline had a war here u say, interesting. how did you get roped in and why?"

"Yes, the bloodline, but two factions. Pardon my kine-use of the word clan." His words came with an even tone, he was glad to know that George was entirely interested in this city's recent events. This meant he must have, at least, a fair amount of concern. Either that or he's just quite curious.
"We got roped in mostly by a struggle with Belial's brood. By that right came to see the forces of a group called VII. When the brood started to cause the chaos that they do, we couldn't just sit around." His hands went over the mug he had, his cold fingers slipping over wet glass as he would run it under the faucet, making sure the mug was completely spotless- a representation of his desire for an orderly transition.
"That being said, our cause against the brood brought us into the Shadow War, as the leader of one of the Factions was of VII." He shook his head gently and 'sighed', acting it out. Yet again he found no comfort from it, only a fake release of his thoughts. "But, those days have passed, as far as we've seen."
Lucian couldn't help but think back on those moments, some regrets still laid, nestled by the sickening maw of a demon. Something within them all, was something that roped the whole thing. What else could he have done back then? He closed his eyes for a few moments before picking back up.
"As for the Groundskeeper position... I believe you about Lord McFee. Regardless- I'm giving Medisia the chance I feel she deserves. If she fails me, than I will undoubtedly be looking for a new groundskeeper, as is the cycle I suppose you can say." He placed the glass he was working on with the others after a final inspection, before finishing his words; "She has, at least, earned the chance to try."

A look of shock on George's face as Lucian mentions the Brood an VII "with such vile forces in the city I'm surprised there are still so many of you in the city." George finishes washing the mug and sets it down. "Could you tell me all the laws you have placed in the city."

When George was obviously surprised, Lucian nodded his head gently. But when he asked about laws he chuckled somewhat. He was sure George would either get a kick out of it or be disappointed. Either way, it was what it was.
"I, myself have not made any specific diction. Nothing too far from the first three traditions, with common sense being part of what's expected. Respect the Domain, respect the Citizenry, and the golden rule." The Prince brought his hands to a towel, at the very least he finished the mugs. He nodded to George in thanks for his... help with them, before leaning against the bar counter.
"Do onto others as you'd have them do onto you."
He looked over the entirety of the tavern, wondering if this sort of peace would last. The only thing missing now was his friend and 'brother' Clouse, and his agenda was half shadowed. Lucian wondered if he was alright.
"Likewise, I only ask that people act their ages..." He looked to M&M, nodding to her with a small smile. "Requiem-wise, of course. I'm sure someone such as yourself can appreciate such a notion." His eyes returned to George, content.

"the laws you stated are vague and limited... if I may be so bold as to suggest refining. Surly your Primogen council has said the same?"

"Vague and limited? For such a small amount of Kindred in this fair city they seem quite straight-forward. Common sense as common law, but if you suppose it's better to write out every bit, than I'll see what I can do." His left hand came down to the counter, his fingers tapping as he'd lean on that forearm. He took a pen in hand and slipped his hand under the counter casually.
"So small is our citizenry that there isn't a Primogen Council. We don't even have three well known elders, the minimum necessary- for such a council. I don't disagree with a written set of laws, but considering the size of our community, etiquette and common sense do seem adequate. The Three Traditions are fairly clear. To keep the masquerade, heed the weight of your progeny, and the forbidden act of Amaranth." As he spoke he pulled out a sheet of paper. Lucian started from the top in Latin;
'Laws of Novi I. Keep to the masquerade. II. Carry the Weight of your Progeny III. Amaranth is forbidden.
The prior are punishable in ways to be decided upon finishing investigation, ranging between reprimanding and blood loyalty, to the taking of the Requiem.
IIII: All shall present themselves before the Prince. Should one wish to keep to themselves, the request must be appealed to the Prince and his advisers.
V: The right to a Domain within the City of Novi must be appealed to the Prince. Usually this isn't a large deal, but all territory grievances (border disputes) shall be brought to the Prince, unless handed to his advisers (Primogen, Senechal, etc) All territory unclaimed and so granted will be open territory and shall be treated as a neutral zone. Disputes involving such shall similarly be brought to the Prince, and if deemed so, his advisers prior mentioned.
VI: Domains holders shall be given the proper respect by visitors, and when appropriate all by-laws deemed by the domain holder shall be followed. When a by-law conflicts with social harmony, or with these laws, these laws hold true unless otherwise discussed with the Prince.
VII: Kindred have the right to own a Haven in the City, as long as it is not imposing on the domain of others. If it is, the domain holder must bring the situation to the Prince in his court to be resolved. Usually, the domain holder will be asked to allow the Kindred to rest in his domain. Negotions will be made towards compromise. If the domain holder wishes the Kindred in question to leave and relocate, the Prince and his Court shall aid the one in question to relocate if absolutely necessary. Any Kindred may have a Haven in the neutral zones, as long as they mind their manners and respect their neighbors. Again, all disputes shall be brought to the Prince and his advisers, and possibly his sheriff. '
He'd read it to George, writing out a copy in english in his best handwriting. "How's this for a start?"

As George began to read he spoke "Primogens are merely elders in the city who give the prince advice on any matter he chooses. There is no mandated requirement for of size, though."
George sets down the paper on the desk with a faint smile on his face "Well wrote, it is always a good idea to have something people can look at to know what is expected. Small groups can be the most unruly because the prince usually does not think they will cause that much trouble."
George stands up and bows to the prince. "Its getting late. I shall take my leave, good day sire. I thank you for considering my advice, my door is always open if want more."
George heads for the door.
